Kontak's 1 under 70 wins scratch honors at Ottawa, and Tyson, Garcia and Graff lead net division with 69's

It was breezy, many pins were tough and the greens were pretty quick--and the scores at Ottawa Park this past Sunday were higher than usual. Mark Kontak made bogey on the first two holes, but rebounded with a couple of birdies and an eagle on the tight par four sixth hole. His 1-under 70 bested Terry Tyson, who was 2-under at the turn, but bogeyed the last 2 holes, by a shot. Jeff Godzak, shot a 2-over 73, and had 4 birdies, but doubles on 8 and 16 foiled his chance to win the tournament.

The net division at Ottawa usually yields some very low scores, but that was not the case this time around, as 3 players, Terry Tyson, Rigoberto Garcia and Tim Graff, tied for first with net 2-under 69's.Garcia rebounded from a 58 on the front nine that included a couple of really bad holes, with a strong 40 on the back nine. Tim Graff was more consistent with nines of 43-41 for his net 69.
