Josh Bialecki played in his first TMGA regular event Saturday and may be adding to the BGSU connection as he made four front-nine birdies on his way to posting 35-37--even par 72, good for a one shot victory over Joe Cline and 2 shots over Mitchell Kontak. Cline, with 3 front nine birdies turned at 2-under 34, but bogeyed the par 3 18th hole shooting 39 on the back for a one over 73. Kontak hit his second shot to inches on the screwy par 5 12th hole and tapped in for eagle, but made a couple of bogeys coming in for his round of 74. Terry Tyson was fourth after shooting 75. Bialecki, recently graduated from BGSU, where he was teammates with Kontak on the BGSU golf team, and Brian Gerken is a BGSU alumnus who played on their golf team. Bialecki just might make the BGSU connection a trio adding lots of wins over the next several years!!
Dave Pierce had his best Metro round of the year and made the handicap division a runaway. Pierce said he putted extremely well on the front nine as he shot 40 and added 45 on the back for an 85 and a net 62-boom!! That was 7 shots better than Scott Conrad , who just won the Metro Championship net division, and 10 SHOTS better than Joe Fulop, Al Szcublewski, Joe Cline, Josh Bialecki and Paul Sullivan.
