Jackson STORMS to victory in Great Lakes Spring Am @ Maumee Bay with 2nd round 66, Smothers easily wins net division. Results now posted.

In the aftermatch of the terrifying weather Saturday night, Robby Jackson (73, 66) promptly birdied the first 2 holes Sunday, and by the 3rd hole had erased a 3 shot deficit to second place finisher Chris Hummer (70, 75). Jackson shot 5 under on the front nine in route to a flawless round of 66 and six shot victory. Hummer did birdie 5, 6 & 7 but was undone by a quad on the tough 9th hole. Kevin Kornowa (75, 72) and Michael Monahan (76, 71) tied for 3rd. In the Handicap Division Michael Smothers (68, 67), despite two 9's on the 15th and 18th holes was still able to capture the net title by 3 shots over Scott Conrad (68, 70). Douglas Gust (75, 66) and Scott Donner (70, 71) tied for 3rd. All results are now posted. Winnings are in the form of Maumee Bay gift certificates and are redeemable for golf (including pro-shop), dinner or lodging and will be mailed in the next 2 weeks.
Once again we extend our thanks to Jack Kerin, owner of Great Lakes Engraving, for being the sponsor of this fine tournament (for 26 of the 28 years it has been in existence). Also thanks to Maumee Bay for having the course playable after the horrific weather just a few hours before our first tee times!
